Barloom

Make any barcode. Scan any barcode.

Barloom creates and reads 106+ barcode and QR code types, from EAN-13 and Code 128 to Swiss QR bills and GS1 Digital Link. It all runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

Any ASCII text, 1 to about 80 characters.

Thirteen families, one place

Pick the family that matches your label, then choose the exact symbology. Each page explains the data rules for that format.

Point, scan, done

The scanner reads QR, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417 and the common linear codes straight from your camera or from a photo. Wi-Fi codes, contacts and links are recognised for you.

Stays on your device

Barloom has no accounts and no upload step. Generation and scanning happen locally, which also means it keeps working with a weak connection.

Checks before you print

Check digits are added for you, and a plain-language message appears when your data does not fit the format, before a wrong label reaches the printer.

Print-ready files

Download crisp SVG for any print size or PNG at three resolutions. Set colours, bar height and quiet zone to match your label.

Questions

Is Barloom really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. Download PNG for quick use or SVG for print.

Does Barloom upload my data?

No. Codes are generated and scanned inside your browser. The text you type, the images you scan and the camera feed never leave your device.

Which barcode types can Barloom generate?

107 types across 13 families: linear codes, postal codes, GS1 DataBar, EAN and UPC, ISBN, 2D codes, GS1 2D, banking and payment codes, healthcare codes, business cards, events and Wi-Fi.

Can I use the codes commercially?

Yes, the images you create are yours. For retail products you still need GTINs from GS1, because a barcode only carries a number; it does not reserve one.

Why will my phone not scan some of the codes?

Phone cameras read QR, Data Matrix, Aztec and the common retail barcodes. Postal four-state codes, Pharmacode and some healthcare symbols need industrial scanners.
